When girls get involved in Girls For A Change (GFAC) programs and activities, they become fully engaged. As a result, they develop social and emotional skills through experiential learning.
They’re encouraged to identify interests, design learning experiences, and choose their own methods of sharing information through project-based learning.
Girls For A Change has a systematic, complementary approach to measuring the girls’ successes.
Preparing Black Girls for the World
Our vision is to support and inspire self identifying Black girls visualize their potential through discovery, development, and social change innovation within their communities.
We've put together a short video on just a few of the many stories we've collected over the years.
What Makes Us Work
Real, sustained change, growth, and success do not happen overnight over the course of a single summer or a single semester; thus, neither do our programs. GFAC's programs are aimed at supporting girls through the different stages of their lives where they encounter different challenges.
We believe in starting early, staying with them, and seeing them through to success as we provide various programs and offer support on all levels to facilitate girls staying with us for the long haul… and we are there to carry them every step of the way.
Camp Diva Leadership Academy
Each summer, rising 1st-8th-grade girls explore our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM)-based programming. As they are immersed in these subjects, they begin to understand that girls, too, can be pioneers in these areas. They spend each day learning about programming, sewing, robotics, creative outlets, and more.
As part of each year's Camp Diva Leadership Academy, our girls put together a celebration of their camp experience.

The Girl Ambassador Program
Every year, we lead 30 high school students through a multi-faceted personal and professional development and job-readiness program.
Here are some of the stories we've captured from our Girl Ambassador Program participants, hiring partners, and community.
Other Achievements
Our participants report that they feel more secure learning to take action on issues that matter to them, making positive choices, and engaging in their community.
They think critically about the world around them and express their feelings, while also acknowledging the feelings and thoughts of others in caring ways. They are confident in themselves and grow up with a “can-do” attitude.
